A Holistic Approach
Integral Therapy for Individual Adults is a holistic approach that integrates mind, body, heart, and spirit by synthesizing practices from Western schools of psychology with Eastern spiritual traditions. “Integral" means whole, complete, and essential so I strive to provide an environment that honors all of you: your tender heartache, fierce anger, your deepest shame, your joy, worries and hopes, what feels dead in you, and what feels creative and alive. Individuals of any race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation are welcome via in person therapy at the Nashville office or via online therapy with a secure platform.
Listening to your Unique Story
In order to feel safe and understood, it is essential that I deeply listen in order to really "get" you and what you're going through. Deep listening, on my part, also makes way for individualized treatment that is tailored to you and your specific needs.
Exploring the Past to Empower the Present
Together, we can allow unconscious thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to be made conscious. We can safely explore negative experiences from your past that shape feelings, beliefs, and behaviors in your present life. With newfound understanding, you can amplify your existing strengths and become empowered to make healthy choices and reawaken parts of yourself that may have been forgotten.
Healing through Healthy Relationship
Besides providing safety and understanding, the therapeutic relationship can be a template for other relationships in your life. Interactions between you as the client and me the therapist have the potential to heal old attachment wounds from past relationships when learning how to advocate for your needs, create healthy boundaries, as well as love and connect in a healthy way. I incorporate elements of Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) when working relationally.
Accessing the Wisdom of your Essential Self
I include Eastern practices like mindfulness meditation and somatic/body awareness that facilitate awareness of the here and now, i.e. your underlying emotions, your core beliefs, your essential self, your spirit, etc. Connecting to yourself in the present moment can help you reduce anxious rumination, tolerate and soothe painful emotions, and access your intuition.
Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) for Trauma
CRM is a heart-centered neuro-biologically based trauma treatment model, incorporating and expanding upon the foremost trauma therapies and healing practices of our day. Elements of CRM include bilateral stimulation (inspired by EMDR), breathwork and somatic practices from various spiritual and therapeutic traditions, connection to the natural world, attunement from me the therapist, yourself, and other attachment figures to help facilitate secure attachment, eye positions that anchor resources or work through distress (similar to Brainspotting), ego state/parts work (akin to Internal Family Systems - IFS), among other attributes. CRM is not only a robust treatment for clearing trauma, it can also facilitate access to your intuition, wisdom, and higher consciousness, ultimately healing your relationship to yourself and others.
